“Mahamati, all phenomena are devoid of selfhood and are thus selfless. What I mean is that all things have their own individuality, which they do not share with another, as the principle taught by the Tathagata should be understood in the same fashion. For example, Mahamati, the being of a cow is not horse-nature, nor is the being of a horse cow-nature. Each of them is not without its own individuality. Each is as it is by its own nature.”

大慧!如我所說諸法無我,以諸法中無有我性,故說無我;非是無有諸法自性,如來句義應知亦然。大慧!譬如:牛無馬性,馬無牛性,非無自性;一切諸法亦復如是。
